ハードディスクを丸ごと仮想ディスクVHDにイメージ変換してくれる
アプリ”disk2vhd”
MS TechNet製です。

VHD（Virtual Hard Disk）とは、”Virtual PC”や”Virtual Server”などの
MSの仮想PCアプリで利用されている仮想ディスクイメージ形式です。

主な使用例として、現状使用していますWindowsXPもしくはVistaのシステム
ドライブをVHD形式に変換し、Windows7上のVirtualPCにて変換した
VHDイメージを起動する。すると、移行をあまり意識せずにWindows7を
使い始めることができます。
ただし、Windowsライセンスに留意する必要があります。

また、VHDを取り込むことが可能な仮想化アプリ”VirtualBox”上で
動作させるのもよいかもしれません。
